This year, Janet Falk's annual Holiday Haiku was recognized for excellence by PR Daily News in an article: 4 lessons PR Pros holiday cards.

Lesson 4: Keep It Short and Sweet

Falk, who operates the public relations firm Falk Communications and Research, caught the attention of the PR Daily News with this message to her clients and friends:

In the dark of night
A sudden glimpse of bright light
Sparks joy in my heart.

She added: "Thanks to your support, 2017 was one of my best years in business. May you gather strength from your success and climb ever higher in the months ahead."

Asked why she chose a haiku, Falk said that "...references to nature and a change of mood is technically difficult. That challenge aligns with my brand of skilled writing for impact."

So, she was able to warm hearts with her sentiment while showing off her professional abilities in seventeen demanding syllables.
