January's RIOC Board Meeting came to a frustrating conclusion when Chair Alex Valella walked out without closure on volatile issues concerning a contract award for managing the Roosevelt Island Youth Center. This time, they will try to do better as the issue comes up first on the agenda as "Old Business," which doesn't really cover it.

The meeting will come to order as soon after 5:30 as any public speakers who've registered have a chance to address the Board and a quorum is seated. Along with the Youth Center matter, there's also consideration of a change in the Public Purpose Fund Grant for Gallery RIVAA, closed since December, and a likely decision on the fate of the "RI Welcome Monument."

The meeting takes place in the Manhattan Park Community Room, previously known as the Theatre Club, at 8 River Road.
