Fall For Arts Festival 2017 Announced for September 23rd
"We are seeking artists or groups to each paint one of several 6-by-8-foot murals or 6-by-16-foot murals outdoors during the Festival, which will be held from 11 AM – 4 PM on the lawn south of 531 Main St, as well as in Southpoint Park," the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) announced late Friday.

Fall for Arts Festival is set for Saturday, September 23rd, which according to tradition, guarantees fair weather for the day.

"This year, our theme is 'Relentless Rhythm: City in Motion," said RIOC's Jessica Murray. "We are looking for fine artists to create works of art that reflect the evolution and movement we see around us on a day-to-day basis."

One of the most exciting aspects of Fall For Arts Festival is that after the murals have greeted visitors for several weeks, in place where created, they are selectively distributed to locations throughout the community, the most prominent being the one of kind Motorgate Gallery where an annual unveiling takes places.
