An exciting new exhibit of Recent Work by RIVAA artist Jim Pignetti opened, and you're invited to meet the artist as a free public reception on Thursday, May 10th, from 6:00 until 9:00 at the Octagon Gallery, 888 Main Street, Roosevelt Island.

"RIVAA artist Jim Pignetti is exhibiting his vibrant Abstract Art at the Octagon Gallery," the artist collective announced. "Jim studied at The Cooper Union and was influenced by the Abstract Expressionist work of Pollack, Still, and Hoffmann. He paints on wooden panels primarily using painter's scrapers. He views his painting as one of encounter and discovery, expressed in a personal gestural grammar."
