Last week, a good sized chunk of the Roosevelt Island community abandoned its neighbors, heaping praise on a deeply flawed plan to park a full time "speakeasy and alfresco beer garden" adjacent to a children's playground and family picnicking location. Each of the leaders share two things in common.
