Outdoor movies this summer, starting with Roosevelt Island

Some of the most popular summer events on Roosevelt Island are tied up in RIOC's summer movie series. These are shown outdoors for free in Southpoint Park. The first, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, fills the screen at sunset on Friday, June 21st. And there's more to come.

The rest of the schedule, including Crazy Rich Asians and a couple of oldies from the modern era, continues through July and August.

Adventurous outdoor movie fans can also quench their thirst for film by following this inclusive list of citywide offerings compiled by AMNEWYORK.

Nearby, Roosevelt Islanders can catch a Wednesday night series of international films in Socrates Park, co-hosted by Film Forum.
