Updated: October 26th, Roosevelt Island Halloween Parade and Party

RIOC has revised plans for Roosevelt Island's 2019 Halloween Parade and Party on the 26th. There are a couple of changes from past years.

Bad weather forced last year's party indoors. This year, RIOC decided to plan it indoors from the start, eliminating a last minute scramble if forecasts turn gray and damp.

Everyone's invited to Sportspark, 250 Main Street, at noon, in costume. It's free and RIOC promises music, treats and prizes.

In 2018, bad weather forced RIOC to scramble to bring the Halloween Party indoors. This year, they're planning differently.

About the parade

Update 10/17: Click here for details, RIOC Heard You, Changes Halloween Parade Route

Change in location brings a *change in the route.

"The parade begins on Saturday, October 26th at 11:30 AM, departing from the Lawn south of Rivercross (across from 500 Main St.), and proceeds to Sportspark for entry into the Halloween Extravaganza!"

"Please arrive at 11 AM if you’d like to join in," RIOC added.

*Halloween parade organizers are considering altering the route to include marching through at least some of the Main Street canyon, the highlight from previous years. We'll keep you posted if anything changes.

In the meantime, get those costumes ready as a great parade and party are in the works.
