Roy Magsisi, the Roosevelt Island Youth Program's Deputy Director and Instructor announced some good news - "The Roosevelt Island Youth Program is proud to celebrate the culmination of another great season for the Roosevelt Island Youth Fall Competitive Recreational Soccer Program."

"The final two weekends had some of the best soccer of the year with overtime wins, shootouts and close scores," Magsisi tells the Daily.

"We had over 400 youth participate for the fourth consecutive year. Special thanks to Andrey Chichagov, RIYP's staff sports coordinator and his assistant, Franz Enama, for another competitive season.

"We also want to thank “The Legend” Tommy Howlin for another successful season coaching our very successful instructional Kinder Kickers program."

Magsisi makes clear that a successful program is enabled by contributions large and small.

"Special thanks," he adds, "to all our volunteers that make this league possible and the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation for its funding and Executive Director Charles DeFino.
