In mid-January, Xue Xia (Zoey), a student at LaGuardia Community College emailed me about a project with the school’s Photography and Archives Department. "Our goal is to show the dramatic changes about Roosevelt Island by photographing landscape changes and residents' life." The results now grace the walls of a cozy downstairs dining room at Spring Street Natural on Kenmare near Lafayette in Soho.

I'm not sure how many dramatic changes they actually caught, but the photos are high quality and the six that comprise the majority of this exhibit do illustrate some of the uniqueness that is Roosevelt Island.

The three you see on this page are favorites. The lighting and locations in the restaurant made good picture of the others impossible.

You'll just have to head to Soho to see the others.

There will be a final exhibit at the college in September.
