Early this summer, we reported that the long idled north, upper level escalator in the Roosevelt Island Subway Station was not going return to service when promised. Instead, the correct date was July 31st, but guess what?

The July 31st date is still posted in the Roosevelt Island Subway Station but not on the MTA's online alert system. The new date is August 20th.

Strike that: It's not posted in the station yet, but the new date for reopening the escalator and disposing of the ugly blue box is now September 7th.

We're willing to take bets on that one, too.
