Foodtown's much anticipated, official opening day on Roosevelt Island brought a stream of shoppers, far more than the location has seen in recent years. The giveaways and vendor free samples continue over the weekend, enticing local residents to drop by and experience the change.

A ribbon-cutting made it official.

Store manager Freddy Guzman did the honors, proving you can't smile for the cameras and cut ribbon at the same time.
