Halloween, 2019... For Island House, it was a special party. Kids came in costume. There were treats and beverages and fun activities and, for management, pride at opening an all-new renovated lobby. But looking back, there's more.

After a year rattled with coronavirus shocks, we roll toward 2021 still not sure what the next new normal will be. Or even how long it will last.

But look at the faces, the children and the grownups. This is where we were. Let's keep what we've never really lost in perspective as we go forward.

The past informs the present, and much of it was pretty good.
